Larry Hynek founded what is now known as Pyramid in 1985. Pyramid has evolved into a national enterprise, having served over 500 clients in 46 states. Our clients include multi-hospital systems, academic medical centers, urban and community facilities, critical access hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, physician practices and clinics. In the early 2000s, we were recognized as the 51st fastest growing privately held company on the Inc. Magazine Top 500 List and have achieved steady growth by providing an array of best in class professional services to our clients, focusing primarily in the areas of A/R Management, Coding and Health Information Management. We were one of the early pioneers in the development of outsourcing as a strategic initiative for our clients. Today, Pyramid's complete suite of services includes revenue cycle/accounts receivable management, auditing, remote and onsite coding, coding compliance reviews, consulting, cancer registry, interim management and outsourcing.

  • March 1985, Lawrence Hynek forms Company in Colorado
  • May 1989, Hynek changes name to Hynek & Associates (HAI)
  • September 1991, Hynek & Associates Charge Compliance Division launched
  • March 1998, Hynek & Associates first major revenue cycle contract - Sacred Heart Hospital
  • April 1999, Financial Improvement Technologies acquired and Patient Financial Services Division launched
  • September 1999, Centerpoint Healthcare Acquired and Accounts Receivable Management Division launched
  • May 2000, Hynek & Associates launches HIM & Coding Division
  • June 2000, Hynek & Associates changes name to The HealthCare Financial Group (THCFG)
  • December 2001, Recognized as Inc.Magazine’s 51st Fastest Growing Private Company
  • September 2004, THCFG moves to Florida and changes name to Pyramid Healthcare Solutions (Pyramid)
  • April 2006, Pyramid moves to new offices in Clearwater, Florida
  • May 2010, Pyramid acquired by Avantha Group
